PDK Transmission Temp too high
Discussion
Hi all. Swapped the manual Cayman S for a PDK Boxster S in Oct 12.
Since coming back to work on Monday after a couple of weeks of very little usage, the error message in the title has come up a few times, the gearbox has gone into a limp mode for about 20 secs and then cleared itself. Last night the same message came up in red rather than white and it gave me a 'box of neutrals. Stopped the car, restarted with no issues and drove the last mile home (fortunate to be close).
Car has been recovered this morning to Leics dealer - full marks so far to Porsche Assistance. Will keep you posted.
Any other similar issues on here - searched and found a few from early PDK days which seemed to be cured by a software update but none recently and none with the complte lack of gears.

PDK has been known to over heat on track.
Porsche did fit a 3rd (centre) rad for PDK cars, but due to Porsche never fitting any mesh, leaves can easy block the rads.
could be that simple, I have just cleared 2 handfuls of leaves from my side rads along with dead animal bits a few rocks and twigs.

Update.
As expected suspected temperature sensor failure. Just got the car back so hope it's sorted.
Credit where credit's due on Porsche Assistance - car collected on flat bed within an hour, taken to dealer, E Class Merc turns up same day for duration of fix. No hassle other than a couple of phone calls.
Fingers crossed for many more miles of happy motoring.
