False floor in 911?????

Afternoon all,

I have just starte to strip out the boot of my Targa to get access to the micro switch on the bonnet lock and have found a false floor in it. Hmm I wonder what this has been used for????



Any PHers with an idea???

ps The boot floor is dry and smell free so I don't think it's to do with damp.

It seems odd as is only give about a 3" void but obviously takes up about 5" of space which is a lot when you think of how much more stuff you could get in there for a road trip! Maybe to hide valuables if left in car so an initial search by a thief would miss it??? Or to keep extra tools????

Not that interesting I know but struck me as odd- also explains the little thumping noise I was getting when going over speed bumps - noise has now stopped :0)

Presumably to hide something valuable, yes; most useful when getting on and off ferries, I'd imagine.

Wel it turns out that its not exciting at all - false floor had some DVD/sat Nav hardware and cabling under it but it wasn't functioning properly so the specialist stripped it all out prior to sale - simples :0)
