It will be interesting to see if it comes to the UK.
I'm guessing price wise it may struggle against the German cars, especially if Subaru have not upped the low rent - but ultimately hard wearing and rattle free interiors.
I liked the 3 Scoobies I had but I do feel the game has moved on (or I've got older)and want something that feels good inside and in decent on fuel and road tax. Not traditionally strong point of Subaru.
I do hope its a return to Subaru of old

Surely performance for performance, the germans have nothing that will better the STI in mpg and tax band?I'm guessing price wise it may struggle against the German cars, especially if Subaru have not upped the low rent - but ultimately hard wearing and rattle free interiors.

Err yes I think so, in 2008 I swapped my 05 blog STI for an Audi S3. If I had gone for a new 2008 Subaru STI it would have been top rate tax so was £430 or £440 at that time, compared to £265 for the Audi. Smaller size engine in the Audi 2.0 compared to 2.5, pretty similar bhp output (though Audi was always quoted as less most where 285 out of the factory - many rolling roads proved this) and much better mpg on the Audi. And better 3 year value on the Audi. Running my S3 for 3 years cost me less in fuel, road tax and insurance than my 2005 Blob STI.And the Audi S4 was often quoted as the alternative car - lol bit more price wise though !
