Kwik Fit - warranty on their work?

[Toaster Pilot]

I've been given a car by a mate that needs a Mot and a clean up before it gets sold on. The handbrake is useless despite him spending £260 to have the rear brakes replaced by KF in July.

Anyone know if they'll honour the 12 month / 12k mile warranty for me rather than him? I'd need to take it to a branch about 90 miles from where he had the work done
