Where to buy fence panels and concrete gravel boards
Discussion
Hello all
I need replace about 10 fence panels and buy some concrete gravel boards
I have the concrete uprights in already so I just need to,slide it in
Any reccomedations on where to buy. I'm in the west end area of Southampton, I have access to a van but don't wanna be travelling too far with em on the roof!

B&Q. I've got a trade card you can borrow and they're usually about 20% cheaper using that. The prices change pretty regularly though so might be worth checking them out.
You're only round the corner from me (Hedge End) so if you wanna borrow it, just shout!
Hi Jonboy, thats a very very kind offer! Luckily i Have one already! You're only round the corner from me (Hedge End) so if you wanna borrow it, just shout!
There's only a couple of pence difference between a Wickes deal and trade point prices. Im going up there this eve to compare quality on the two. I shall also try K&M fencing up by peter coopers, see what they are like
Thanks again, very kind. Give me a shout if you ever need a hand with anything, handy having people to lend / borrow / help out etc
Cheers

The delivery from Wickes is also worth considering, especially things like heavy gravel boards. They'll just HIAB it into your garden on a pallet subject to access.
A sensible man would do this. I borrowed a bloody corsa van with roof bars and grabbed it all from wickes in four trips. I acheSpare tyre said:

Be interested to what you think of K&M as I need to replace a couple of panels in my garden that have blown down. I am in Grange Park so might not cost a lot to deliver as its only round the corner from them.Fair Oak Fencing - http://www.fairoakfencing.co.uk/ - was another one I was going to try as I have run past their truck enough times - they are in Durley.
If either are a lot more than Wickes (who are moving next to Magnet soon) then I will just end up going there instead.

I never got to k and m due to timings with the van I was borrowing etc.Fair Oak Fencing - http://www.fairoakfencing.co.uk/ - was another one I was going to try as I have run past their truck enough times - they are in Durley.

B and q were sold out of the panels that I needed. Wickes had the amount I needed. I'd be worried about getting panels delivered as I'd say about 1 in 6 were damaged so I didn't select them. I guess you could reject them on delivery.
So in the end I purchased
4 concrete posts - bloody heavy. Struggled getting them on top of the van as my mate is so short
10 panels - some heavy due to being saturated
6 lots of gravel boards. I got 5ft high fences making up the extra foot with the gravel board at the bottom.
4 bags of rapid set postcrete
Had a bloody ball ache getting some old posts out the ground, next door had built a big shed right on the boundary and it's foundations we're over the top of the concrete on the bottom of my posts.
Started to dig new holes with a spade but it was getting dark.
I've decided to buy a hole post digger, your welcome to borrow it.
I'll probably be using it over the next couple of weekends mind
