My father is in the market for a Chimaera and this one has caught his eye.

Does anyone know the car?

Thanks

Hi,

Don't know the car personally but it's been on the market for a fair while. Was up for sale when I was looking back in October but the interior colour wasn't to my taste,he may take a sensible offer for it though if he wants to move it on.

Lovely looking car, I don't know it personally, but it is located quite close to where I work if you want me to take a look. The mileage is right on the cusp of where the prices start to dive dramatically - if that had been 80,000 miles it would be worth about 2/3rds of that value. There is probably a deal to be done, as the previous poster said.

Get someone to inspect the outriggers carefully before purchasing - there could be a £2000 bill lurking there. I speak from painful experience. An MOT tester would know where to look.......

I agree with Qbee, check out riggers. Nice offer I'd take it if I didn't know much about Tvrs? Goodluck

Looks a lovely car and a cracking colour, but can't help thinking the interior is too 1950's America, the sort of trim you'd find in a Ford Fairlane.

Thanks for the advice all. All going well I'm going to go with him on Saturday to view it.

It would definitely be a show car and Sunday drives rather than a track day tool so maybe the interior is quite fitting.

There is also a yellow 450 not far from this one that I may suggest viewing also.

Unfortunately neither of us will be at burghly as we are taking part in 'Rallye des Jonquilles' in northern France.

I hope it's as good as the photos suggest (feeling a bit bad after the interior comments). If your father buys it will you enter both cars in the rally.

It's not what I would have bought 'back then'
But it looks a stunning example, and the exterior / interior reminds me of my father's '53 Cadillac Eldorado convertible (now sold).
Always loved that car. It was captaining a cruise ship smile

Good buy there I think Stuart.
Sorry for you and dad though Calvin frown

Sorry - just seen it's been bought!

I remember seeing this car for sale when I was shopping around this time last year. No idea if it's as good underneath as it looks in the photos.

let us know!

Got a couple of other Chimaera's lined up for viewing tomorrow now, as the forecast is looking dry and clear it would be rude not to take the Cerb! smile

Quite right too, that's some rude lights you have on your Cerb, are they stock or aftermatket, would they fit a Chimeara. Loving them. Have a good day Tvr hunting.

Cheers, they are afterburner lights. They were fitted by the previous owner and if I'm honest I don't really like them... I believe they are quite expensive aswell. I plan to change them to the 4 pod lights found on the later cerbera and chimaera at some point.

AFAIK chimaera and cerbera rear lights are identical so they should fit.
