Gen II 911 PDK problem

Hi all, I've ben noticing a bit lately that when changing gear from D to R (say when parking) that the gear change is accompanied by a decent old thud from the gearbox. Similarly, when I'm in Sport mode and the 'box drops down from 2nd to 1st quickly (say when braking hard) I hear a similar but not identical thud. I had Porsche West London take a look at it as part of the major service completed last week - they said they updated the PDK software and it should be fine now - the problem is that its not fine now, still the same thuds. Its my first 911 so i don't really have anything to compare it to. Anyone have/had similar experience? Should I be pushing to get them to re-look at it? The car still has 14mths of Porsche warranty. Take it to another OPC and do yourself a favour. The OPC you're going to has an incredibly average service dept full of part time staff. Book a loan car from somewhere like Hatfield or East London as it may take a few days to sort out properly.

In sport mode, my 981 "thuds" (is that even a word?) into gear between 2 and 1, just as you come to a halt. Obviously not experienced yours, but it may well be normal? Does it "thud" when sport is off - If not, I guess it is ok?

My cayman does the dame. I was concerned soon after getting it and had a tech from Portsmouth and Guildford take me out and both said it was normal but I did have the software updated as part of its first service but its still the same. I now rightly and wrongly accept its OK and ignore it, and in comparison the the BMW DCT I had its a massive improvement.

Bought my C2 PDK 6 months ago about a month ago started doing similar thing clunking into the lower gears I also found it difficult in steep uphill traffic as it was clonking in and out of gear so I booked it in with Porsche West London as it had a Porsche warranty and they did the reset and cancelled all the fault codes as they did not recognise them as relevant , they told me there is nothing wrong with it but definitely did not feel as it should be so booked it in with the chaps at Portiacraft where I bought the car, I left it with them as they laise with Autologic who supply their tester and software and using the fault codes that were logged traced it to a faulty camshaft solenoid it was fairly inexpensive and the labour was free re the terms of their warranty so rather than go back to Porsche they changed it and the car now drives beautifully with very smooth gear changes right through the the rev range and non of the hunting when the car is in gear and ticking over.
Maybe give this a go.

All 911 PDKs tend to thud when changing gear, most notable when moving lever from n to d, especially when the engine and transmission are hot......
