Windscreen to roof join

Looking at my recently acquired Chim, its clear the screen has been replaced, and not very well, some of the top seal is not clued to the glass in about a 10" length, and and it does not follow the line of the roof very well, with gaps up to a couple of mm. The seal does look new though.

Should the line of the seal match the line of the roof? Does it matter if it does not? Do I need to fix the seal to the glass?

Thanks for the pick. Yours also seems to have a slight gap, though has been installed better I think.

I'm sure mine's original, only done 32K.
