2012 car with delivery mileage
Discussion
I've noticed a car for sale that was registered in 2012 that still has delivery mileage on it. The trader wants around 30% off the list price for it.
How much do you think I can get away with offering him for it? I'm assuming he will make a loss on it.
How big a loss would traders stomach?

Haggle until he'll go no lower. That's the only way you'll know. How can anyone else know his margin or motivation to shift it?
FWIW I purchased a 2009 Yamaha WR450 this summer that had been sat on the showroom floor for 3+ years. I saved about 35% on a current model. What profit the dealer made is irrelevant, I was happy with the price differential.

No, it's in the class of AUDI/BMW/MERC/LEXUS
Why not just say what it is, rather than just list what it isn't? If you subtly point to it somebody might CAP it for you.And I'm guessing.... Volvo S60

Also, you're buying a two year old car, not a new one. It just has exceptionally low miles. Value it as a two year old with low miles. Suddenly your 30% off list doesnt sound very cheap?
I'm hesitant to link to the vehicle for the reasons stated.
It is one of the brands I have listed. And it's at the upper end of the range.
I think it should be a lot cheaper than 30% off as 50% of the manufacturer warranty has already passed. Brand new is available at 20% off.
I know many experienced traders/negotiators are on here, so just seeking good advice without upsetting the trader by making silly offers to the trader.

I don't think it's cheap at all. That's why I'm asking how much of a loss people think traders will make. He's advertising at 30% off, and hence he must be expecting near that price. I don't think it's worth anywhere near the price. Also, you're buying a two year old car, not a new one. It just has exceptionally low miles. Value it as a two year old with low miles. He probably has around £3-4K margin on it, and will probably want to work to £2,500-£3,500 to make it worth his while selling. It is one of the brands I have listed. And it's at the upper end of the range.
