£500 budget, what car? -_-
Discussion
Sorry, another "what car?" thread.
Looking for something under £500 that has at least 6 months MOT and has an engine no bigger than a 1.4. That is pretty much my only criteria. Would prefer not a diesel and not an automatic but as it's just a little stop gap I'm not too bothered.
Have been thinking of buying a 1.1 106 and giving it a tiny touch with the lowering stick and some white steelies but that is mostly daydreaming.
Any cars in particular other than the 106 I should look at?

Brand/model of car doesn't matter at this level - get on eBay and gumtree (more private sellers there) in your local area and hit the phones - you are looking for a genuine private seller. Before you view a car ask the seller "is there anything else I should know about the car before I view it?" - the seller now has the chance to tell you about the dents/history/dodgy interior: if I view a car and the seller hasn't told me about an obvious problem following this question I generally walk (can you tell I have been viewing sub £1k cars for a friend over Christmas!).
