Underside panels and water consideration
Discussion
Hello,
I'm on my way to fit the underside panels, but I'm asking me some questions regarding water problems.
- The underside battery panel will act like a bath with the steel frame around it.
- With the double skin kit, the radiator has an opening on the top for the radiator fixation, but none on the bottom.
- The double skin of the cockpit will seal a volume hermetically.
In the first two cases, water will accumulate above the underside panels. For the cockpit, water might come from the pedal area and flow between the panels. The problem is that this water will not go away except by evaporation.
To avoid this kind of problems, have you added small holes on the underside panels close to the corners with the chassis frame? Should we do it or not?

Yes, for the battery tray.
Yes, for just the sections that have the rad. mount bobbins. The other sections of this double skin area will be sealed so do not need vents.
No, for the cockpit double skin. This area should be properly sealed so does not need venting. The area around the pedals should be sealed from the rest of the double skin. I have not put holes in this as there is little likelihood of there being water in this area. If there is then you have bigger problems than corrosion.
