997 Headlight. High beam, Low beam, Side light.

Hi all.

Please excuse my utter stupidity.

Porsche 997 headlights. On the round headlamp there is a bulb at the top that looks like it's in a dish. Then below that a bulb you can actually see.

On the picture enclosed it would be item 2 for the one in the dish and item 3 for the bulb below.

Ok, question. Which is the high beam - aka the "flash" and which is the regular headlight for night-time driving.

Also the side light - is that mounted in the indicator panel in the bumper on the 997? (no 18 / 19?)

I just changed the bulbs on my cayenne and the high beam is the one you can see - the regular dipped headlight is the one that looks enclosed. Hopefully the same on the 997 although my 997 had xenons so quite different?

Many thanks. Mine is a regular halogen variant - think the xenons were an option. Just the side light now...

Yep, 18 is sidelight, 21 is indicator.

Can I ask, which is the foglight on a 997? Is it in the indicator panel in the bumper? There's also another very small bulb in the indicator panel - any idea what this is for? (19 on diagram)

Would 19 not be sidelight and 18 foglight?
