Just watched a programme that I recorded about updating the Hubble telescope, actually getting there puts the astronauts at very great risk not to mention the monetary cost,it was all nearly for nothing when they could not undo a bolt holding a handrail on.Mission control told them to just snap it off!!
I will never complain again about the motorist shop being half a mile away when something goes wrong when I am doing a job on one of the cars.

Which repair mission was this? I remember when they originally launched it and then realized the primary mirror was screwed.

Lots of things needed updating including putting in a better camera,it was not going to get done because of various reasons $$$???.A new bloke got involved in running the project and he said lets do it.
Makes the hairs stand up on my arms when it took a picture of a dark area of space that showed up hundreds of new galaxys containing billions of stars.
I think we should just keep quiet and hide.

I've been into this stuff since before Hubble, probably 25 years now. Humbling.
