Would PH as a whole have the willpower to send someone to coventry, ie ignore their posts, never reply, never quote them?

We won't be implementing an ignore feature or any form of rainbowing. If you don't want to read someones posts, don't read them.

If someone is trolling topics then please feel free to report the posts using the link next the post in question and the moderators will take a look.
However merely disliking someone's posts is unlikely to be enough for them to be removed.

If one were to be particularly savvy a chrome extension to hide peoples posts could easily be devised but that would be on your own... rolleyes

Rainbowing? Is that another word for wordfiltering?

What's he done? I've viewed a few threads and can't find anything to complain about.

Thanks for your concern and rolleyes. Very professional.
How to win friends & influence people wink

Your question was answered, suggestions on what to do were given, just because you are not going to get your own way you insult a member of PH Staff?

I think you need some lessons in etiquette & manners!

of the 219 posts in the thread, 53 of them are by him, most accusing people of being BRAKE supporters oh and there's a cracker about supporting the confederate states and implying that removing their right to slavery was a bad thing.

To be honest he doesn't come over much worse than most of the other people in that thread.

For lower blood pressure deselect that entire sub-forum in your preferences.

I reported at least one of his more offensive posts.

Nothing happened.

And I'm not the only person who thinks he's trolling.

I'll just have to take your advice of downloading different software to every device I use in order to ignore troll posts you aren't prepared to do anything about.

I can assure you that if you've reported a post someone will have looked at it and decided on actions required, if any.
If you have an issue with the moderators handling of a specific issue please contact Garlick directly.

The implementation of an ignore function isn't really a trivial matter.

However what I suggested about a chrome extension to do it for you is probably easier, however, you'd have to have some coding experience to get that done as you'd have to write it from scratch and I'm aware that most people aren't of that particular bent.

I've just had a quick read through that thread. Might have missed something, but all I see is bullying by the usual PH suspects who seem to think any criticism of motoring laws, and their enforcement, is a bad thing and any transgression merits the offender nailing his nuts to a plank and giving himself up at the nearest police station.

Really can't get my head around why people like that have an interest in performance cars and why they're here. The comparison between these people and those tireless workers at BRAKE is, I think, entirely valid.

As for XJFlyer, he started by offering useful knowledge of the US judicial system. He deserved gratitude for that, not the usual reach-for-the-pitchforks-we've-got-another-witchhunt-here brigade in full song.

My blood pressure would be better if his inane ramblings could be ignored.

Think about it.
Please.
Have you considered changing your tampon, as I have good reason to believe it may have gone toxic, Miss.

And that's just one thread.

I'll say it again.

I'm not interested in getting a member on here banned. I'd just like the facility to ignore what they say.
Why do you need a machine to do that?

Really, though, you think speed limits are Good Things?

Where did I insult a member of PH/Haymarket staff?

It wasn't me who gave the rolleyes smiley.

I haven't asked that he be banned, just that an ignore function is installed.

He can spout as much of his anti speed limit drivel as he likes, I'd just like the facility to ignore it.
You have the facility to ignore it. Grow up.
