I bought a 111S!

Praise for Bell + Colvill here, I've never dealt with a garage like that before. "Take as many out as you want, spend the day here" the salesman said. They weren't half busy yesterday (Sat) though, they must have sold between 6 and 10 Elises that day.
Anyway, I've bought a Mustard Yellow 111S. Considering I went there to buy a red one, it's a bit of a change, but after what someone else on here said about buying on condition rather than colour there really was no other choice. The Mustard looks awesome with the sun on it, much lighter than I remembered. A friend has a Norfok Mustard early S1, but mine seems to have a pearlescent finish to it.
They're putting an induction kit and the Yoko Advans on it, as well as a cambelt and all the usual stuff. It's only done 10k miles which is what I wanted really, a nice low miler.
Pics are below:
Anyone recognise it?
Phil.

Good choice Phil, looks like a nice car, you're gonna have a lot of fun in that!
Bell & Colville IMO are a fantastic dealer, really want you to feel part of the Lotus family. I drive from North Herts to B&C to get my 111s serviced, so that should be an indication of how good they are.
I had the B&C sports exhaust fitted to mine (series 2 car so probably different system), designed by a chap called Tom who works for B&C in the Service Dept. Totally transformed the sound of the car and is definately the best addition I've added to date.
B&C are the oldest Lotus dealer in the country I believe & their service to customers is the reason why they're still in business.
Happy motoring!

Congrats welcome to the joys of owning one
I haven't dealt with them but I have heard that B&C as a dealer are very good, as a service centre they can be expensive. You don't need to have Lotus badges in the log book, there are some excellent lotus specialists around that will sort out equally good services for les money.
Congrats once again

Nice one, well done, the only colour to have the S1 IMHO. But i'm not biased honest, check my profile! Gotta get yourself a sports zorst and induction kit. It's the only way to go! Braided hoses are nice too for better brake pedal feel, but enjoy mate. Just be careful on the cold damp mornings while you get used to it!

Nice one Phil,
She seems like a beaut'
Couldn't find a chrome orange one then?!
I second David's post about taking things easy and building confidence gradually. Nothing rocks your confidence like getting out of shape on the day you pick your motor up!
I had a "moment" the other day, and take it from me, you really don't have to be being silly on damp roads to get things moving! PZeros do suck in the wet though so I think your Advans will be a big improvement.
Enjoy

To be honest, I think I was on a hiding to nothing trying to hunt out a Chrome Orange. My main requirement was something bright - I think I've got that one covered!
I don't pick it up for 2 weeks - what a drag. I'll take your advice re taking it easy although I'm coming from a 250hp RWD car anyway, so I'm pretty familiar with arse end drive. I did a 1st Lotus day in the Mazda about a year back, but I think I'll book in for another one and see what the Lotus can really do.
Phil.

Good work PJ. Twas me who said buy on condition rather than colour and I've got a Yellow one too ! Apprentice is right - 111s are the metallic Spice Yellow - wait till summer when the sun shines on it - the absolute danglies !
I've never seen a Chrome Orange 111s - must be quite rare.
As for the RWD'ers - don't try and drive it on the back wheels as it doesn't have the power to correct errors like a 250bhp car does. Its very neutral with high grip levels but when it goes, you need a certain amount of run off to correct it.
Absolutely fantastic buy. Looks identical to mine - S1 111s with hardtop on.
Buy that man a beer !!....
when he's took his hardtop off
