Yes, I can Google recipes but I want PH recommendations

It seems that my local corner 24/7 supermarket is also a butchers smile & Goat looks like a meat I'd like to investigate further so I'd be really grateful for your suggestions please.

Treat it as you would lamb, but be warned it's not as flavoursome. There's also no fat on it so it can be dry. Perhaps a tagine?

Michael Smith's Goat tagine on Great British Menu tastes superb. Bit complicated mind, when you google the recipe you'll see what I mean. You end up substituting and ;leaving ingredients out as they are so many.

I love kids……but I couldn’t eat a whole one!

Obviously you've never had Caribbean curry goat. Absolutely delicious!

I've made some quite nice stews with it. It needs long, slow cooking as it's tough as hell and dry.

Mien Tay's version of that dish is very good.

This does surprise me considering all the other replies.

Never heard for Goat stir fry, and just wondering which cut they use, unless it's been precooked then stir fried.

The Ockers have a recipe which suggests sirloin or fillet cut into strips then marinated in soy sauce and sesame oil.

No idea for the Thai one. Google only throws a couple of stir fry recipes up. But Googling isn't what the OP wanted as that too often leads to untested twaddle that just does not work.

Points at Nigella Lawson recipes. Waits for the avenging hordes to descend. Sorry but there is no relationship between quality of a recipe and cookie's brassiere measurement.

then it got all posh and you couldnt BYO so we now go to another place which I wont name for fear of it getting too popular!

I'm a bit surprised too having (once) tried lamb in a SE Asian recipe. Perhaps goat, lamb's less 'sheepy' cousin might work, but it still seems an odd flavour combination.

I'm firmly in the slow-cooked / curry camp. I've bought goat out in Cyprus - where it's helpfully sold as 'lamb' rolleyes - and tried to roast it, but the flavour was not good. It definitely needs spices.

Try and get young Kid goat, not the old mutton-y stuff. You can treat spring goat like you would lamb. You can even get Kid fillet steaks.

Just because its goat doesnt mean you have to anything out of this world with it, just treat it like mutton or stewing steak and you'll be reet.

Mien Tay do wonderful things with goat. My Vietnamese info service advises me that the cut used is probably haunch or shoulder that they use. But we have never asked in the restaurant. Do try it.
