GT3 noisy suspension springs

I've just got a 2004 GT3 with 2000 miles on the clock. When I move the car at low speed ie/ into garage/ parking space, the front passenger side suspension spring seems to groan and spueak - does anybody know if this is something to worry about?

No idea whether it indicates a problem, but it is most likely stiction in either a bush or the damper, the spring is just responding to the vibration.

got the same issue on mine - whenever I reverse out the drive at an angle I get a 'twang' noise from the spring

was concerned at first but it seems normal

Also, the last couple of inches of clutch pedal movement (at the top) seems a bit rough to me...anyone else got that!

Lots of weird noises from a GT3. The squeaking and twanging are perfectly normal. On start up it sounds like a rusty bag of nails. First time I heard the diff groaning in a low speed turn, I thought the tyres were rubbing the wheel arches and got out to have a look. Even now I wince whenever I turn at parking speeds.

Still, when it's singing at 8000, who cares?

I posted something very similar on the PCGB site.


The twanging sounds are just the springs re-seating themselves into position apparently, and is nothing to worry about.


My clutch doeas feel very grabby at slow speed, don't know why that is though ??

But as just said, it makes a very sexy noise at 8000rpm

If you get somebody to watch, you'll probably be told that the car is only on three wheels when this happens!!
