Google 'TVR chassis repair', there's a number of sites. This one http://www.southwaysautomotive.co.uk/services/tvr-... gives an idea of costs. It's not a recommendation cos I've never used them, but it gives figures.

From 3k up depending on what else you do at the same time. What repairs need doing? Im just about to get mine back after outriggers and refurb for that sort of price plus vat.

I've just started a 'nut and bolt' rebuild myself, however that's doing the 'grunt' work myself. Happy to let you know costs as they progress. It's cost me nothing so far as I am still stripping down but those rusty bolts holding the body to the chassis are an absolute pig.......

Where you planning to hand the car over to someone else to do the work or where you going to strip down yourself?

Hi

It all depends on what you want from a Body Off chassis rebuild. I went for a full Chassis rebuild including all the bushes and powder coating and replacing if necessary any of the wishbones. If you use Facebook search for Str8six , my Griff is with them. Look under Pre Cat Griff chassis Restoration. Plenty of pics, including why sometimes it might not be a good idea to replace Outriggers with the Body still on.

I did a body off restoration myself, a couple of years ago.
Including the cost of outrigger replacement & chassis powder coating by others, and without touching the drivetrain I spent circa £5500. Worth every hour.

Hi
I will be looking to get my Chassis done sometime next year (1992 PreCat ) While I could do the work myself I just know it will end up a two year project. Couple of options I have looked at , Buy a new chassis and just swop things over or get someone do a complete chassis restore.
I dropped into RT racing last week as was passing and was impressed with the setup

I also would like to read about other peoples experiences

I should be lifting the body off the chassis today. When I have I will be posting some pics etc. I was planning to do a body off guide, a bit like the Chim one but watch this space as I also have lots of other plans, not all will reach fruition. I am currently taking lots of pictures.

I am currently planning to refurbish my chassis and also add cross pieces to fix seats and battery box. I am also planning to have my chassis galvanized (somewhat controversial) but I think pros outweigh cons. Plenty of threads to look at from the past.

I also plan to do as much of the work myself as possible (eg. I will prepare the bodywork but have it sprayed professionally)

Very happy to share experiences (good and bad) etc. Pete

Scotty, no it's a 1995 Griffith 500 but many similarities.

Currently struggling to separate body from chassis. I've undone every bolt, cable, pipe etc., quadruple checked but when I come to lift the body the chassis and engine go with it confused

Maybe today.....! Pete

(before you ask I've got the 2-post lift with arms under each wheel arch lifting the body, just like Edd China with the Cerbera on Wheeler Dealers)

If you're sure you've got every bolt then it just needs more encouragement. Mine took way more lifting force than I wanted to apply (via an engine crane) and finally went with an almighty crack. Nothing damaged but you've got nearly 20 years of mud, stones, rust and road crap sticking the body to the chassis now.

Good luck!

Simon
