Gloves to refill?
Discussion
Why oh why are the handles on diesel pumps regularly covered in diesel? It seems every time I fill the car up I end up stinking of the stuff. Strangely it only seems to be a problem on the diesel pumps the unleaded are usually clean.
I have now started to wear the disposable gloves that some garages provide.
I don't think I have ever seen anybody else wear the gloves. What about you? To glove or not to glove?

My own car is petrol but all the company cars are diesel so I wear the gloves, at least I wear the gloves when I remember. I hate the smell on my hands and it really doesn't seem to wash off very easily.
Now you mention it though I see lots of people with diesel cars but very few use the gloves, nation of smelly people!

Gloves every time - I'll drive elsewhere if the garage doesn't have them, the stuff stinks.
I'm in my van all day and there's nothing worse than rubbing your eye or eating your lunch and being abruptly reminded that the pump you used earlier was covered in it - or the last knob to use your van managed to spill it everywhere but inside the fuel filler nozzle.

I may be in for some flaming, but I wear gloves every time I refuel both diesel or petrol for a very different reason: http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/news/fuel-pum...
