Ooh, must have just missed you. We were there as well yesterday evening.

A walk around the garden of rememberance at Westminster Abbey and then down the Embankment to the Jubilee bridge and also closer to the Eye. Will post some pics later.

As an aside. I was trying to take a picture of the Eye from the South bank side. There's a small avenue of trees which have had blue lights put in them. Quite a nice view up this avenue to the Eye. Security guy comes over and tells me I'm not allowed to use a tripod! Started to have a debate with him and then thought sod it I don't have time to waste on this and pretended to pack up. Security walks off and I plonk camera back on tripod and take the image I was after anyway Question is as the pictures are for personal use rather than commercial and I was standing in a piece of publically owned land, what right to London Eye staff have to tell you not to use a tripod? I'm thinking no grounds at all but would like to be able to tell them exactly where to shove it any why next time rather than going into a Derestrictor type rant about how inane and feckless Albion has become.

Mine is just the 3.2 Mega Pixel with 10x zoom.

My interpretation

Shot with a wide angle lens and I quite like the effect of the trees being distorted due to the lens pointing slightly upwards.

Also

I think exposure here was about 10 - 15 seconds. Taken from the Jubilee bridge (no tripod nazis here).

I'm a bit gutted about the last one. I spotted the plane flying overhead directly over the garden of rememberance and thought what a great image that could make. Composed and shot but the dynamic range was too much for the grass and the sky. By the time I realised the plane had gone overhead and the shot was lost. I'd like to think I was trying to get an image that said, "Remember these people and what they stood for but also look to the future"

The garden was a very sombre and moving place and really stopped you and made you think.
