Buzzing.....

Anyone had this problem before- at 2000rpm i get a buzzing noise from around the dash area, possibly behind the dash. It doesnt matter what speed or gear im in its at 2000 rpm. Its really f***ing annoying. suggestions...

I've had something like that recently, recon mine's just vibration, grab hold of the clock and it stops (the noise, not the clock - clock's been wrong for years but still going)

It'd probably going to mean investigating behind the dash or living with it and I'm just lazy!
There are some good threads around for removing the dash if you're desperate.

Meant to reply when I saw this days back. I have exactly the same thing, 2000 rpm rattle coming from behind the speedo area.
I took the top of the dash off, drove the car with it off to try and locate it, nothing doing. Removed the speedo in case in was inside that, nothing. Removed gauges and anything that could come off easily, nothing. Moved anything that moved and packed anything that may have caused a rattle with foam.
I ran out of time and put it off to another day but in truth I would not have a clue what to try next. I will get back on it one day but in the meantime if anyone has any suggestions feel free to share them.

Oddly (or not) I have exactly the same buzzing. Even though it sounds like it's in the dash, it's not somewhere in the steering column is it?

It sounds like the noise is higher than the steering column to me, could be wrong though.
