After years of trying to find something to keep the leather in the wedge looking good and clean I used Soap Flakes today for the first time. Probably the best £1.99 I have ever spent.

Sounds good mate but just remember with leather that its..CLEAN..FEED..CONDITION...Alcohol wipes are good for getting the grubby stains off of leather but again it will need feeding and re-conditioning afterwards....Ziga

Yeah got some feed and conditioner stuff also. I was surprised how much dirt the soap flakes lifted off mind you.

Fitted these whilst I was at it, I had forgotten all about them.

Anyone after some 400SE ones drop me a line.

Hi Rob

They do look nice, and yes don't sell the car you have put a lot into it. To many wedgers have got there car to a great condition and then go and part with them.

How have you fitted the sills/kick plates, with the pads which came with them or some thing else. When I get any more made up I am going to have longer strips/pads with them. The ones I still have in stock will be supplied with some extra strips.

Hi Andy,

I just fitted them with the pads already on them, they seem ok. The wedge is staying where it is for now as I have my eye on a wedge that has been hidden away since 1988 in a storage container pulled out started up and maintained then put back in its box. It is really mint with only 14000 miles on the clock and total timewarp condition. Just need to work on the owner. This will give me something to tinker with as that is where it goes wrong for me when I get bored when there is nothing left to do.

It is a mint 280I DHC in blue with red decals. with matching trim. Honestly not a mark on this thing with and a chassis you could eat your tea off. Under the bonnet looks like It has just rolled off the production line.

In the owners words it gets started regular and dragged out once a year for a service and what have you. Then he revs it up too the annoy the neighbours a bit then puts it back to bed in it's box. Going to try and twist his arm to see if I can get it for Carol.

If an when you do get it, can you post loads of pic of such a clean machine especially in the enginebay if possible, that would be most useful. :@)

The owner is adamant he is not selling as he has no need to. But with a bit of persuasion you never know.

To me though just a shame it is not getting used.
