Water coolant flow
Discussion
Hi guys, bit of a odd one this.
Does anyone know the direction of flow of water on a 2.5 .
Does the hot side come out of thermostate to rad or other way round.
Need to know as I think when engine was put back the hot side entered the rad from the bottom
which im sure is wrong.
Im sure this caused my rad to expand at bottom and split.

Original rads fail at the bottom due to them being tight against the chassis rails. They transmit any movement into the rad.
Alternative and more scary- a head gasket leak can allow air to overpressure the rad..
I'd have thought the problem will be more prevelent in high-boost engines.
Pretty sure pipework and waterflow are shown in the build manual.
