Cayenne S, problems closing the boot!

I bought an 04 Cayenne S to use on the basis of all the hyped up "Worst 3 months of blizzard like history ever" back in November, needless to say, I'm still waiting for this weather to turn up.
I love the car, I think it's great fun, however it does have a couple of odd quirks.
Sometimes the boot just refuses to shut. Not the little window hatch, but the main boot. You slam it shut, but there is still a centimeter or so of play, and the interior light stays on. Sometimes you have to slam the thing 3 or 4 times. Other times it does it first time!
Also the central locking. Most of the time it works normally, from 5 feet or 25 feet. Other times it will not unlock at all, have to unlock manually and put the key in the ignition to unlock all of the doors.
I replaced the battery, but that didn't make any difference, a few days later it pulled the same stunt. Probably only does it once or twice a week.
Is the Cayenne one of those cars that just has some quirks that you have to accept? I've told the wife it's the cars character, but I think she smells the BS and want's me to just get it fixed.
Other than that I really enjoy Cayenne ownership, so quick on it's feet, puts a lot of cars to shame.
