Hi, I have been looking at supercar hire websites for a nice car for me and my girlfriend to arrive to prom in (I told her I would choose the car as I'm supercar crazy) and they are all £500+ with thousands of pound deposits. I was just wondering if there was anyone out there who would be willing to taxi 2 people for relatively cheap to our prom location. The unassured date is the 1st of july. thanks

live in the Gainsborough area.

Most super cars are 2 seaters though?

I'm sure someone will be along soon saying they're happy to help out, but would like to see a picture of the GF before suggesting payment options.

Typical PH dodging the question, if you're that keen to be in a supercar but why not save that money and put it towards an experience day?

Failing that, not a supercar, but my wedding car was almost a Mustang - was 1/10th of the price of the supercars. Dunno if your girlfriend would fit in the rear with a prom dress on though hehe

Have you tried an executive taxi service - sometime's they're not that expensive and you can get dropped off in a S-Class merc or something that's reasonably swish...

Worlds gone mad. Why would it matter to a group of school kids what car you turn up in.... Plus girlfriend squashed into back seat of supercar in prom dress....?

Much better idea.

My wedding car was a Citroen DS. Maybe it just comes with age but I doubt we'd've received more appreciative nods with a supercar.

These arrive-at-a-school-disco-in-a-ridiculously-expensive-car-for-sixty-seconds-showing-off-to-your-mates things are a modern phenomenon aren't they? With the risk of sounding like a proper old man, what a silly way for kids and their parents to spunk loads of money.

Still, best of luck with the hunt.

Something like this might not be too expensive.

But come on people - you were young once and wanted to impress!

Quite agree. And the fact that I respect a nice old Goddess as a wedding car suggests I am a proper old man too.

Seriously, get a boggo taxi, or the bus. Put the money towards something worthwhile. I wonder how many of those 'youth' who are wailing that "The world is too difficult and expensive" were quick to fork out several grand on a flash motor for their 'prom' (whatever TF a 'prom' is.)

I think its more the fact that I would be in a supercar than showing off, I mean everyone wants to show off at some point but I just love them so much and never have any opportunities to see them where I live either but ii don't know

Hiring supercars is a bit "Bradford wedding".

Spend your money on booze and party drugs to smuggle in instead.
