Hi,

Due to things being a bit quiet at work I think I am going to sell my 997S.

Any suggestions as to the best place to advertise a new car, its almost a year wait for a new one so I hpe to get back list price..

Does this ad look reasonable to you guys?

Surely there are better places to market a 997? Unless of course you are going to enjoy being contacted by every monkey and 419 scammer on earth!

Asking for a deposit within 24hours and not having pictures of your car screams scam. I'm not saying that you're scamming, just that without knowing anything else this is the MO of the scammers and will make genuine punters run a mile.

Why ask for a deposit? Would you give a stranger £350 with no security?

Why not put in the effort to get some pictures of the actual car?

No photos because it is still being built and wont be in the UK until the end of the month.

The deposit is to stop a timewaster bidding only to withdraw his bid in the 5-7 days between the auction ending and the car being available.

I would send somebody a copy of my contract to prove the car is real and give them a receipt.

You might get lucky, but if the amount of hassle we get simply by selling £10 items is anything to go by, you're in for a tough time!

You should make the listing private so that serious bidders email you first before bidding.

You're just gonna end up with a load of 15 year olds bidding it up to £2,000,000!
