I have dug out the Vixen S2 lowbacks from the loft and they are a better fit in the car than the proposed MX5 seats

The runners are on the seats but I cannot find the floor channels anywhere..Anyone know what they are off and anyone got a picture..

E-bay do some replacement versions which would doo the job but if I can lay my hands on the channels it would speed up the old fellas car fitting..

Anyone interested in buying a mint pair of MX5 seats, Black vinyl and black velour centres, speakers in the headrests??

Hi Neil, I think the seat runners are Triumph Spitfire, ( from memory),
I will check later when I go into my stores as I have spares
I have been also looking at different seats to make Vixy a bit more comfortable on long trips ( I am old remember ) ! Have been locking at Corbeau and Recaro, but getting the low base seems a problem !

Yep.
Dad is very short so the MX5 seats should be good and the base squabs don't look that much thicker than original.. I feel very high up in car though with trial fit. This is a bit too close to the roll hoop and I am worried about contact with that in an accident.

The MX5 seats would be good for a shorter driver running without a rear cage.

Was looking at some sparco F550's but cannot find prices. Will probably have to change the habit of a lifetime and stay original hehe

Neil

These were identical to the original seat runners on my 1971 Tuscan V6.

Neil. Probably not original fit, but I used early MGB rails & channels. They fitted with little effort, work well and keep the seat close to the floor.

Yup, I'd agree.

You need to take care when fitting repop units, as the returns are not bent correctly and the seat will fall loose of the adjuster...not a good thing!

Andrew.
Thanks for the offer of some Runners but in all likelyhood you will need them for yourself.
Done some research and they are available so will get some off the bay.
Cheers
Neil.

Just had a look in my stores, and the runners on my spare seats, are definitely spitfire. I think all spits used the same runners, so you should find some easy enough.

They are as close to the floor as you get !
