Just changed the interior bulbs on my F12 to LEDs from the OEM incandescent bulbs. I prefer the colour temperature of the LEDs being more white white than yellow. Very simple to do.
8 x 501/W5W/T10
3 x festoon (239)

Boot has 3 festoon bulbs - very easy to pop out the bulb holders and replace the bulbs.

Doors, footwells and glovebox use 5 of the 501s. Again very easy to pop off the cover and replace.

The overhead panel uses 3 501s. The manual is inaccurate in its removal. (Manual says just pry it off with screwdriver - totally wrong). Remove the horseshoe shaped insert from the rear - there are 2 clips, one on each side and 2 hooks at the front. That then exposes 3 3mm allen bolt heads. Undo those and the unit comes down for access to the 3 bulbs. I used 2 'spot' types for the reading light and a 'flood' type for the central light.

Much brighter, whiter light than the filament bulbs.

Would be great to see some pics. Any recommendation on seller ? I have bought from numerous suppliers in the past and some haven't been the best of quality.

Thanks

I used http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/led-product-catalogue/a...
and
http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/LED-Bulbs-c/

probably cheaper places out there but the bulbs worked.
Pics are taken with iphone and no flash to try and capture the bulb light.

Threads like this make PH, "guys, I've just bought a brand new Ferrari and taken the tools to it.....". Brilliant. Like the chap who bought a Zonda and started taking it to pieces! Only on PH.

I did ask the dealer to do it, but they looked at me like I tried to order an F car without LOGO side shields... No one has ever asked for LEDs they say.

Oh, and no one has ever asked them for locking wheel nuts before. So McGard in Germany are sorting some out, then I will DIY it.

So far dealer has missed out charging their hourly service rate for:
1. winter tyre installation (no one has ever asked them for storage before)
2. LED light install (no one has ever asked for that)
3. Locking wheel bolt install (F don't do them so we don't)
4. Installation of Capristo valve controller (it would void warranty). I didn't install it in the end as no valves at all is not too loud at any time.
5. Removal of vacuum lines from exhaust valves (various alternatives from we don't know how, it will void your warranty, it will damage the engine from reduced back pressure etc.)

and as impressed as I am with the mods (amazing no locking wheel bolts...)...how's the driving experience?

Sorely tempted by the F12.

Very nice. Very easy to drive. I use it as a daily driver and no problem. Been to Tesco and B&Q with it.

It's quite soft in wet or bumpy road mode. Good for normal town roads with their potholes and sunken manholes etc. HiFi is total crap. Gearbox is superb.

The one control you need on the steering wheel (cruise) they put as a button on the dash - with no ability to "cancel" apart from braking. Huge power of course, but not a problem on the road at all if you drive sensibly.

A few software quibbles I have but doubtless F couldn't care less as they will sell every car they make:

There is a delay to windscreen blowing full defrost when the vehicle is cold. Not needed - as the vehicle warms up it will blow warmer sure, but no need to wait for that to blow air on a fogged windscreen, which delays drive off.

There should be an option to show a full screen digital speedo on the left TFT screen (not just analogue and not the tiny digital speed) eg when sat nav or media or radio is on the right screen.

Add Predictive turning radius lines on rear camera screen based on steering angle sensor.

In radio\dab\menu\station list, that produces a list of available DAB stations but you can't select any station from the list whereas in FM mode you can rotate to the desired station to highlight it and then click to select. Only way to select a DAB station is to seek for it up or down.

In navi\menu\ tmc traffic\traffic setup the "warning prompts" cannot be selected.

In the same menu, "dynamic route guidance" doesn't remember the last setting, on each restart one has to change it to auto.

In navigation\menu\map update, it suggests going to navteq.com which doesn't support Ferrari.

In the same menu the vin number is not shown just ?????????????

Overall though, superb. Is it worth more than the average house, no, but its seriously cool!
