Power cut

I was driving on the highway in the weekend,when without notice the engine died instantly.
The same happened a couple of days before,but after playing around with the imobiliser button it restarted,not this time however.
The auto sparky is looking at it tommorrow,but wondered if this sounds familar to anyone.
Both times it's happened after 10 minutes of driving,it tries to start but nothings happening.
Just wondered if a imobiliser can go wonky and cause this.

Hi Paul
This or very similar happened on my 93 4 litre. On mine the cause was a corroded fuse holder.
Look in the passenger foot well. There should be a couple of fuse holders that just hang off part of loom.
Pull the blade fuse out of each. The fuses on mine were fine but the contacts in the holder were black with corrosion. I replaced them with new fuse holders &, touch wood I've had no problem since.

I had this too, fiddled for absolutely ages (3 minutes) and then never switched the thing on ever again - cant hear the engine

I would also check/replace the 2 fuel pump relays (don't know where they are on the Chim) but replacing these sorted a similar problem on my V8S
