Was going to post this in the Homes and Gardens sections then came to my senses!

Moved in to new house last summer with a single garage ( good length but narrow) The Chim fits in with plenty of room , but little room to "tinker/fettle".

Next to the garage is a HUGE! covered carport 10mx5.5m, however as seen from the pics is most definitely is not water proof or private. The current roofing is corrugated plastic sheeting ( with giant holes in !).

Bought some thicker sheeting last week and started to re-fit, stops the rain coming in but the amount on condensation from the underneath is crazy! Would be crap as a garage area in winter ect for the car, tools or any sort of storage etc.

any thoughts on getting it watertight? . Had a price for wooden doors on the front that would hopefully keep it a little more insulated.

any other ideas? I know you can buy anti-condensation roofing but that is opaque . I wanted to keep A) the cost down and B) keep the light coming through especially in the summer.

yes but we currently have plans submitted for a loft conversion that will swallow all our money for the foreseeable future ( 3 kids , more room blah blah, you have a garage etc etc) Funnily enough I was stood on the drive today looking at the roof/ garage and thinking if widen the garage to a double and still have a drive way down the side, however the cost the cost would be significant, if I was to do it I would tie it into the house roof and that would cost ££££.

It's condensation on the inside with no door on
Have you or swmbo got a tumble dryer venting under the port or the boiler?
You should not get damp inside with that much free air
Check it's not water blowing back up the sheets with such a shallow pich( or not overlapped enough )

No dryer or boiler. Definitely not blowing back as no real rain since Sat. Wonder if because it is exposed they have just iced up on the underside then thawed?.

some suggest bubble wrap underneath to give insulation. No point till doors on?

With the amount of concrete on that floor acting as a ice block I don't think insulation in the top will do much
