cycling after the snip - how long?
Discussion
So, how many on here have had the snip, or have a "riding buddy" who has had it done that can pass on their experiences?
I had the snip last week, and it's still a little delicate down there. Some bruising and tenderness, not enough for painkillers, but enough to not give me the confidence to get back on the bike just yet.
How long was it between your (or your riding buddy's) snip, and getting back in the saddle?

Thanks for the replies.
No stitches, just steri-strips for 48 hours. Doc, said no sports for a week in his bumph before, but I forgot to ask specifically about cycling (had other things on my mind
)
Sounds like I should plan on 3 weeks, but might give the rollers a try out next weekend as a tester.

It's been a long time since I had the chop, so I'm not sure I can remember how long I was off the bike for. I know the military line on it is you get a 'PT pass' for two weeks, then back to training - if you need more time, you have to plead with the M.O. or have a senior who is sympathetic to your plight.
What I can remember was the clinic recommending I get someone else to drive me home, in fact they practically insisted on it. My wife came to the clinic with me, and although she doesn't have a driving license, we lied and said she would be driving. I just about managed to get us home before the local anaesthetic wore off and the pain really came through
At a guess I reckon I probably ended up giving it a month before cycling, because I had some pretty impressive bruising on the old beau-locks.
