£235 Fully Comp Insurance for a 5.0XK anyone beat that?
Discussion
Well for me it was Privelege, but the variation is enourmous, certain companies supposedly offering specialist Jaguar insurance were £1200 or more. Mine is 12000 miles a year normal social/dom/pleasure with no protected ncd and a high excess, and I am an old git of 46 with 12 years NCD and no points.

My insurance nearly doubled when I started working offshore
I expect they think you drive to car to work !!The only other reason for the price increase could be that that offshore workers tend to drink a lot when they come onshore, but you are not insured if you are pissed..
Total rip off...

They may be assuming that the car will be left in an empty house for a few weeks on the trot. I've heard of this before; I live in Aberdeen, I don't work offshore myself but know folk who do and found the same thing. The only other reason for the price increase could be that that offshore workers tend to drink a lot when they come onshore, but you are not insured if you are pissed..

Bottom line, insurance industry isn't regulated properly and will always find a way to screw more cash out of customers or avoid paying up. Disclaimer - I don't just have the Jag, I have another car I pay far more insurance on than seems fair.
