These guys made the "original" M12 wheels.

www.azev.com/index_eng.html

They should be able to sell you a set that fit.

I also think a few people have had conversations with TSW - www.tsw-wheels.co.uk/ who I think it's been rumoured make the current wheels - but don't quote me on that!

Yes, the South African wheel supplier has a direct deal with Noble and unfortunately won't supply direct to the likes of us ;-(

BTW, a new 3R wheel comes out at £940!

Sorry, I am talking about MSW (I think?) wheels who make the 3R alloys.

I seem to remember the 3R wheels being made by WAW in SA. They are custom made though, so only available to Noble.

Vegantune have struck a deal with a wheel company to provide an alternative to the (very expensive) factory originals IIRC.

Do you know how similar they are to the original 3R wheels, and can they offer them in baked on Graphite as per the M400, Stuh?

You are correct Anthony - I knew it was an acronym with some W's in! :-)

Dear All,
I too have been waiting on the Vegantune solution. So I've now got two genuine racing wheels suppliers working up a solution.

Would anyone be interested in a new set of wheels - racing style?

If so ho much would you be prepared to pay?
£2000 for a set of 4 rims?
More?

It depends on the wheels to be honest. If they are

a) strong
b) lightweight
c) good looking

Then yes, the advantages of having a light wheel are huge, if they don't bend easily then even better. I love the look of the speedline magnesium wheels the elise guys use, in black

I need the answer to this a little quicker than most of you

slight brush with a curb

just contacted Vegantune...Richard Marshall (Mr Vegantune) is in charge of this little project.

the initial solution they came up with only saved about 1 lb per wheel, so they are back to the drawing board (they are looking for a lightweight solution for racing as well as road performance)...

no news on timing yet (Richard's not there at the moment!) I'll update on any developments I become aware of.

Cheers, M

Don't dust them off, haven't you heard its the brake dust that gives them their strength.......

Dear All,
Money where your mouth is time. I can get a set of magnesium wheels made for our Nobles at approx £500+VAT each wheel, half the weight of alloys and twice the strength, in a choice of six colours. They are made by the people who make the Elise racing wheels. See

www.dymag.com/autosport.htm

for an idea. To get them we need a minimum order of 5 sets.
Anyone prepared to PTMWTMI please contact me. From order delivery would be 6-12 weeks.

Paul I don't think magnesiusm is a good idea at all. Whilst light they aren't particularly robust and once the finish is damaged (from kerbing etc) they will degrade very quickly.

You may of course be aware of this, but thought I'd mention it.

Yes, "pure" magnesium as in pure race wheels are considered throwaways but as we will be having these made to order we can specifiy a durable mag alloy mix.
