I have found a cheque that is a refund from the TV licence people from 2009 payable to me (the executor of my dads will) this morning. I dug out the probate document naming me as the executor.

My question to the masses is; will the cheque have expired or ran out in any way at all?

cheers.

Not officially, but most banks will reject them after 6 months.

Reading into it, I will have to contact the issuer to re-issue it I suppose.

Actually there is. It's six years. Banks policy and the law are often not related.

Just keep a copy, Pay it in and see if it bounces.

It it does you can then contact them for a replacement.
