Announced in the paper here that it is returning to the Place des Jacobins in front of the cathedral.

Great I much prefer it there and it means we can watch from our regular viewing point near the bar wherewe have a couple of bears before heading back to the circuit via an nice Indian restaurant

It's been at Place de Republique for the last few years as they're been ripping up the cathedral square to install a new tram line.

Will they go back to the old route and avoid people trying to get vintage cars up the 1:1 road up from the river!

Hyperbole rules OK! 1:1 indeed! A gentle slope for many, but I see where you are coming from. I can't see how they can go back to the old route unless they stop the trams for the duration of the parade. We used to go down to the prefecture, but that is a one way street out of town now, and it's the same with most of the old route so I still see it going out of the town centre, along the riverside and back up through the tunnel.
