I never really post much on here... but maybe you guys can help, I'm doing a study of tattoos at the moment, if you know of anyone who has any interesting ones I would love to know, meanwhile heres a cpl from last week, I'm just getting some new lights, maybe I will move onto cars soon, if I can figure out a way of stopping them falling through the floor of my studio, I reckon with the right lighting you could get some awesome shots of some exotic machinery,

Taschen published a photo book of tattoos, everything from tribal markings through to a guy that has a jigsaw design on the whole of his body. I appreciate that you're looking at this from a photography perspective, but it's a good book if you're generally interested in the subject.

Also, there are several tattoo and piercing conventions through the year, you should find lots of people who would love a studio picture of their artwork.

Love the first picture, fantastic lighting.

Edited for smelling pisstakes.

thanks for that book comment... I may get some good ideas on lighting.... I'll rush onto amazon and order it. I'm struggling with lighting the larger tattoos, it seems you have the choice of lighting for effect or to capture the art, and the middle ground is very difficult!.

shady.... I'll get on my hands and knees next time and hold a reflector real close... and funnily enough probably won't be thinking of you!!

You might want to take a lot at the work of Stu Williamson. Your style reminds me of his.

Lovely lighting on the first image, a very delicate treatment of the subject.

Some shots of these people when they're 80 and the tatoos are around their knees would be funny.

Very nice shots - hateful body mutilation though.

Each to their own.
