Hi guys

My son is having a 'hobby talk' tomorrow at school it's something they do every Thursday. He, like me, is a car enthusiast and is eager to do a talk on cars. But, what should the talk on cars be about? Top ten maybe?

How old is he? This sounds like something I would have gone to town on when I was a kid!

If I had that chance now, I would just go mental.

I would start at the front and work my way back on a Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, why I think its the best car ever made.....

I would be there for hours cloud9

I'd go down the route of why he's chosen to discuss cars in the first place. How do they make him feel? What's his earliest car-related memory? Where does he see the future of cars as going? What's his favourite car and why? Etc. thumbup

So he's in Yr9. As a teacher I'd get him to talk about what it is and why he likes cars. Was there a first memory, or did you as his dad have a car that sparked his passion. I imagine it's an English task, so speak about emotion, how it makes him feel, what he'd like to do in the future with regards to his passion. Does he have a particular favourite car or type of car? What and Why etc

I'd try and avoid a list of facts and figures as I imagine he wouldn't get a high mark. That is, unless, that's what's required. Does he have some sort of mark scheme?

It's more of a 'get to know you more' task. It's in form time at lunchtime. There's no mark scheme, just have to be open to questions and that.

I get it. I'd still go down the same style. Maybe can talk more about what cars he likes and why. Is it a new school? Just thinking Y9 is a bit late for getting to know you...

Year 9 at his school means new everything. More lessons, new teachers, new form teacher, they call it Middle School at his school. New people in his form aswell. He did this in year 7, when he was in Lower School(y7-8)
