In the process of fitting a new stereo (Pioneer DEH150MP if it helps), rear speakers are in and ready to be connected but I'm struggling with the wiring, the instructions don't read easily to say the least....

The wiring instructions say something about a "glass antenna" do out chimaeras have these (mines a 98)? I notice there's a thin wire attached to the aerial plug does this need to be connected to the stereo in some way, the instructions mention connecting the glass antenna to the "booster power supply terminal"?

I hope somebody can help as yet again what I expect to be a simple job is turning into a right pain :-(

Thanks in advance

Nigel

The later cars used an electronic antenna that I think runs up the sides of the windscreen.

Generally, the blue wire on the loom that should have come with the head unit powers the antenna amp which is the small wire attached to the antenna cable.

It is drastically important to make sure this is correct for the head unit though otherwise you could cause all sorts of problems. Pioneer do have their manuals online in PDF format.

Thanks for your reply, there is a blue wire which I was thinking was meant to go to the aerial connector.

Good idea on the online instruction manuals, perhaps I can find out how my old pioneer original radio cassette.

Thanks again.
