Anyone got any advice for me?

Ordered a Q3 S Line in November and its arriving next month for the new 14 plate - at the time it was impossible to get one from stock and all the dealers had queues till March, ordered an S Line with some bits on - cars for my dad so although its not my personal choice of car it suits all the criteria for him.

Annoyingly now theres an S Line plus, this has all the options that we ordered as standard other than the heated seats, infact value wise its better and for a could of hundred quid more it'll include Sat Nav - seems like a no brainer to me.

So do I….

A. Cancel this one and order a plus - this might take an age!
B. Stop letting it niggle me!

Ordered it through a broker who put me onto the dealer who was very good to deal with and got me an excellent price.

Any Audi salesmen got any pointers? I don't want to bring it up with the sales lady unless i'm pretty sure i'm going to change…

thanks in advance as always..

It's your Dads car but his choice, and really - would he be that desperate for an integrated sat nav? If he really must have one surely he could live with a portable one from Halfords ETC, they must be cheap as chips these days.

Stop worrying I say.

I suppose in part it depends on the cancellation policy in the order form. I spent a lot of years in the trade and would not have ordered a non stock vehicle without decent deposit which I would be holding onto if you changed your mind to the newer spec. The dealer ordered the car at your request and they will likely be stuck with it for the same reasons that you mention.

You can cancel but expect to forfeit your deposit.

entered build on the 9th - so i'd assume its done. It's not a problem really, just wondering whether its worth doing something about it now - especially seeing as every dealer I spoke to gave it the whole 'sell every one we get straightaway mate, and we never discount them blah blah'..

...well there you go.

Best way to buy a car. Try it for a few days and if you don't like it, send it back.

I think you should honour the original agreement. Unless of course the dealer is happy for you to cancel then reorder but I doubt that is the case. Speak to the dealer, you never know you might get lucky.

High volume car dealers don't do many people favours and will obviously be interested primarily in profit and you're interested in the best car for the money. If it were me I'd have a chat with the dealer, get my calculator out and just work out the best thing for your Dad financially, provided the option of buying the other car is through the same salesman and same dealership. If you lose a few hundred quid to get out of this deal and order another car from the same dealer saving you more, then everyone's a winner.

PS The drunk side of me wants me to suggest that your Dad tries a proper car rather than a pretend off roader, like maybe the perfectly good A6 or A5, which have far better road manners than a Q3, more performance, better handling, better performance and better mpg - in fact better everything (unless you're trying to drive through a flood or herd mongoose). If he wants 4WD because he gets stuck in the snow, buy snow tyres or a Quattro. Anyhow, that's me talking after most of a bottle of red - the polite side of me goes with my advice above smile

If they're as in demand as you say and you haven't ordered something wacky like pink paint and lime green leather (or no leather at all!) then the dealer may be quite happy for you to order something else as they'll probably have no problem shifting this one. Best speak to the dealer!

In the experience of MY dear old dad, the mounting and disembarking an SUV is infinitely easier as you get older. (Spine's rarely improve with age). My Dad also finds he feels safer with the extra height and view of the road ahead.

Just putting it out there.

Just cancel it, otherwise it'll bother you. I changed my mind on a car because I didn't spec a leather gear knob and handbrake once, the dealership didn't seem bothered as I was buying one with more options instead.

Always a pain when something slightly better comes just after you have ordered.
Thankfully its not for you otherwise I think you d have to scratch that itch that is the niggle you referred to.if it was for you you probably couldnt let it pass.speak to the broker though.he might be able to help.
