Two albums to come, and tour dates to be announced. Looking forward to hearing further updates, but for now this is excellent news.

I know he's like Marmite, and I personally don't agree with many of his views (several of which I suspect he just says to provoke a reaction), but I just love his music, or more specifically the lyrics he puts to music.
You Are The Quarry was fablous, IMHO. He'd definitely get a seat at the table of my fantasy dinner party, right next to Hitler. Should be lively!

He's a total tit, he ruined This Charming Man.
He wrote this charming man, or rather the lyrics, so it wouldn't be called this charming man if he hadn't of ruined it! Or do ya mean he ruined marrs music by singing this charming man over the top of it?Either way, not keen on his interviews or some things he bangs on about but I do love the smiths! Even going to see the Smyths on Friday in Stourbridge

It's a great tune, ruined by his awful lyrics about a homosexual encounter. Either way, not keen on his interviews or some things he bangs on about but I do love the smiths! Even going to see the Smyths on Friday in Stourbridge

And yet in context, in the month it charted, number one was occupied by Culture Club & Karma Chameleon. What would you have the lyric be? Loving would be easy if your colours were like my dream...red, gold & green?I'll stick with Morrisey, thanks.

About anything other than homosexual encounters, would be a start. I'd rather it was an instrumental, actually, as Morrissey is an awful singer.I'll stick with Morrisey, thanks.
Why not about a homosexual encounter? Why is that not fit for a song? In any event, it's more about the protagonist's anxieties than anything else.
But putting that to one side, pop is an endless diet of lyrics about 'love', whatever that is, often sung by pre or just about pubescent teens. A homogeneous diet of production line throwaway bubble gum nonsense is a distant second in my eyes to someone who writes songs examining the human condition & references Anthony Shaffer in his lyrics.
Morrisey may well be a tool of the first water, but he has the soul of a poet & people who fail to see that & talk about morose lyrics & a terrible voice are alright - they leave the thinking & appreciation to the rest of us.
