Shrewd Broons / Oor Wullie observation

I work alongside a very clever fellow and he pointed out something to me this morning which I find a wee bit unsettling.

There’s a clear resemblance between the twins in the Broons and Oor Wullie.

Has anyone else noticed this or heard it discussed?

Interesting! Did Wullies Pa get it on with Ma Broon or did Pa Broon get it on with Wullies Maw?
I think the twins are actually Maggies children, they look similar imho, this would suggest that she has also been friendly with Wullies Pa, the lucky chap.

i reckon it is wullie's pa that has been playing away. and the twins are actually wullie's half brothers... whit aboot the bairn, cannae see ma broon being her mother I reckon ma broon is her granny and her maw is daphne, question is who is the bairn's faither??? reckon it could be big basher that bashed daphne up

awww crivvens kiltie mon, i reckon the but n ben was a den of sorts, I reckon there was swinging going on there before it had been invented... maw broon was always going on about the fresh eggs fae that big fermer, perhaps she was getting her ain fertilised at the same time

Didn't they call him soapy as his name was Cameron?

I always put it down to convenient alliteration.

In the navy, blokes with the surname Hudson were always automatically dubbed "Soapy" but I think that was just to do with a popular soap product during the war.

More importantly, Lord Snooty is just Oor Wullie with brylceemed hair. Separated at birth?

And more worryingly Maggie was substituted for someone looking quite different in about 2000, and has gradually morphed back to her older look.

And how come Primrose, historically only there to cause embarrassment to Wullie is now 'one of the gang'. Political correctness gone mad I tells ya. I've even see Wullie wearing a crash helmet on a bike - whit aboot the spikey hair?

and of course they were originally all done by the famous Dudley D Watkins, who's artwork was never matched, with the stuff in the 2000s being particularly poor in terms of fidelity to the originals.

I'd have maybe thought that the Broons' Horace would have been a more likely candidate.
