Amazed no one has offered help with this, are Porsche drivers purely obsessed with looking good, or do they actually help fellow motorists with advice??

Can someone help??

Maybe people simply don't know and this isn't the best place to be asking technical questions about Porsche engines.

And try not to stereotype, it makes you look like a prat.

You're absolutely correct, the Porsche forum is exactly the worng place to ask a question about a Porsche engine.

I have only had help and advice from P/heads members, and to see no response to this post is somewhat surprising. Maybe it is too indepth a question for the average Porsche owner, but I am sure that if listed in the TVR pages a reply would be forthcoming.

Nice website btw, wouldn't it have slightly more helpful to guide Purdie to that?????

Girls,

Come on lets not get our knickers in a twist, I am sure it will all turn out all ok.

Cheers Simmo
(On the Beach)

For those of you who don't know why have put on the beach, Simond had a massive off whilst on a track day with me and ended up on some gravel on the first corner.
HA HA!!! I am sure red letter days do some track day driving for you to get some more experiance!

...blue smoke is never a good sign - get it checked by a good independent/OPC.

Nope, just pointing out that this is a stupid comment to make and you can't expect porsche owners to not find it offensive. The guys on renntech would be the better place to answer very in-depth engine questions.

Its hard to get answers to questions like this on here because the majority of the online Porsche community won't/don't come here because of stupid comments like this one...shame really.

The reason people don't post here is because of arrogant comments like yours, not the orignal question. It doesn't offended me in slightest when someone asks a question I can't answer. This is a free bb, not the world according to Greig.

I don't think you've understood my post.
My response was not in relation to the original question, it was the comment from Simond001 that all Porsche owners are purely obsessed with looking good.

The original question was fine and valid, but unfortunately no-one on here had an answer, and it also doesn't offend me when I don't know the answer, happy to admit it by the fact that I didn't respond.

Blimey this has turned into handbags at dawn, come on guys you are all decent types, put those bags down!

Going back to the original question, if it's not the well documented puff of oil on start up when cold & the car is blowing oil after start up & when driven, then as some one above said this can't be answered sensibly on the web, it needs a visit to the OPC or specialist in order to properly diagnose what sounds like an URGENT problem, leave this one at your peril!!!

Chaps,

Sincere apologies. I didnt realise a single off the cuff remark would upset so. It is appreciated that some people have responded and I am sure Purdie has gained valuable information from here.

Grieg, chill out old boy, its not that important. I accept that sometimes a raw nerve is hit with comments, but I am sure you don't only care about looking good in your car. I have already commented on how good your website is... lets leave it there
