Many of us would like a winter meet, before Christmas. Before we discuss dates, would anyone like to help organise this meet? Mike? I cant remember who organised the last meet, but perhaps the first step (and I do apologise for starting this thread but not actually helping to orgaise it) would be to establish who will help in taking the reigns, suggesting a venue in/around kent/surrey/sussex/essex (as central as possible) and bring things together?

Hi Bob,
I have no problem arranging the meet, although as I am not from the area maybe someone else could suggest a suitable place?? Pies? Oldred? Kentish? Wildfire???

Only problem for me is I dont know when we are moving down there, although I would expect it to be early Dec at the latest so Mid Dec would suit me best I guess!

I'm off abroad for a couple of weeks in two weeks time So, probably not a great deal of time for me to arrange anything but I can suggest Bodiam Castle is a nice backdrop, plenty of parking and a hoon down to the beautifl town of Rye where there are many pubs with good menus. Or, fish 'n' chips from the "kett 'o' fish" by the harbour. A very good chippy that!

No meet for me, as I'm tied up well until Christmas Eve. Also driving £1000 for a meet is a The petrol would cost the same as a pair of rear shocks for the car. Have to agree with Kentish Rye is nice and it's agood drive down through some cool roads if you're coming from M20 way. If things look ok, financially, (I've been told I may get a pay rise next month) then I may train down and try and blag a lift off someone.

lets agree on bodiam castle, Rye is great for a hoon(!) and mike if its ok with you, can I leave it to you to organise then? As for time, I dont mind when, shame if you cant make it wildfire (and good luck with the pay rise mate ) I'll also leave that to be decided.

If we can set and agree upon a date... (perhaps we could hold the xmas raffle at the event after taking the money in advance, Mike?)

A meet up sounds great, but as I don`t get out much..............were is Rye????

Also, would after christmas be better as then you`ll know how much dosh is left to play with, and people may have less commitments in January than December??

So is this a national winter meet?
Is everybody invited, if so I think a trip through the Dartford tunnel sounds like a good idea
Any chance you could get it a bit further south

S meet my friend. Hence generally predominantly S series. Yup, 1000+ miles is far too much for me in one weekend. Especially as I'll probably be coming down a few weeks after that again for Xmas.

But like I said I may try and come down via train or something. Maybe some kind soul in the Surrey Area will give me a lift.

Rye is on the South Coast. Down the M20, then head to Brenzett, get to New Romney and follow the signs. (Wow look I can give directions!! I think they're right as well.)

I'll probably be taking my girlfriend with me, but all TVR's are welcome, an S meet is just a good opportunity at meeting other S owners, but we can convoy up together

So, Rye then? If so can anyone suggest a location in Rye to park up? I suggest 2+ laps of the town centre and back alleys are in order! For those of you that dont know it, its quaint, plenty of narrow alleyways in which we can blip our throttles, very pretty quaint little town

RYE as in Rye in Kent , that is like a 3 hour drive from me and I already live on the south coast . Nothing personal but I am unlikely to travel that far to look at bunch of S's .

Just looked at RYE

I don't mind going South, but that is out in a place in accessable to most.

Ideal place...... well it all depends on where people coming from really.......( I get a feeling it is mainly the southern people/home counties). So somewhere nearer to the 0 latidude(or is it longitude)... hense more accessible to those out to the West

Yep Rye in Kent, as in on the South Coast. Rye is way too far for me it's like an 8 hour drive.

Do many of you prefer somewhere more central then?

It was initially mentioned as a meet for Sussex/ Kent/Surrey/Essex owners who didn't mind a couple of hours in the car (a bit of a chore I know)

Any suggestions are welcomed.

As I said it all depends where people are coming from...

But south of London you have Austec, and the Grasshopper (a pub with massive car park) at Westerham on A25 (I think thats how it is spelt) which I know have hosted meets before.

North of London....You have both Knebworth Park, and Hatfield house... food could be sorted at near by pub.

I am not sure about where other dealers are ....i don't think the TVR Centre near Barnet has a lot of space

A few ideas though..... a little more central then then the extreme wilds of Kent

OK then no great expert at the local terrain but kent/sussex/surrey sort of bump into each other at a single point somewhere. How about meeting up around that point on the map then, can't help the essex bit thats north of the river . Might even get some from hants then too .

Harry

btw what date you talking about

Grasshopper at Westerham is good. Close to M25,easy from Surrey,Hants,Sussex Kent,Essex and London.
Big Carpark, easy to find and a good few places to motor.
December 11/12th sound any good?

Hi Tim

Perhaps we could meet and drive in convoy with PIES and OLDRED (if they can also make it on the day).

A convoy of 4 (or more) S's would be rather nice.

And anyone else going from Kent too?
