If so, what is it.

Anyone any idea on prices?

Are you sure you mean the 935...? There's a *HUGE* difference.

911 Flatnose

935

The 935 was an all-out racer based on a 911 silhouette with an extended tail. Nicknamed 'Moby Dick' the later cars had in excess of 900bhp IIRC. The 911 flatnose was a stock 911 road car with a modified front end. From things I have heard they were very poorly modified as well, even though they were done at the factory.

The 935 came in a lot of different incarnations, Moby Dick being just one. There's a really good article in the current issue of Motorsport comparing the 935 and the '97(?) Porsche GT1 LM car.

There was a 935 being run by a chap called Chamberlain(sp) in the Porsche Open this year. I marshalled a round of the championship at Castle Combe a few weeks back and it really is something to see. In a 15 lap race it lapped everyone up to 3rd twice - the only thing saying close was a race spec 996 GT2 and it still struggled.

a flat nose 911 is either a SE or a SSE and can be either turbo or N/A so usualy max circa 320bhp and not all that rare candy apple red was popular. A 935 is an all out 700bhp race car built buy porsche and one or two other race shops Kramer etc..

A lot of "Road spec 935's" are 911 Turbos with a DP 935 body kit on them. a giveaway for a novice other than price is the engin layout, real 935's have a flat fan as in the 934 rather than the upright fan of the 911.

one or two nice replicars are about the ex MD of lufthansa had a yellow one that looked handy.
