I got a voucher for an item of compression gear for Xmas.

I go running a bit (about 20 miles per week) and cycle a bit (about 40 miles per week)

Am I best off getting compression tights? or a compression jersey?
I assume tights as my exercising is leg-biased, or doesn't it work like that?

Tights.

Not sure if placebo or not, but I got some last year and I feel stronger (and my knee twinge seems to have disappeared). They also help recovery if you sleep in them, although it's quite minging sleeping in sweaty gym tights.

I don't know if your voucher is for a particular brand, but I have these and am very happy: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/2xu-pwx-elite-compression-...

I have Skins tights and calf guards, some Orca tights and some Nike compression socks.

They all seem to help with the recurring calf cramps/level-1 tears I've been suffering when running.

Skins tights fit and stay up better than Orca, full-length white compression socks look decidedly special needs.

Get compressions socks.
Skins™ are expensive.

Voucher is for these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sub-Sports-Compression-Bas... or a long-sleeve top from the same brand.

So leggings/tights it is. Just to choose the colour now smile

Tops are good too. Running is an all body exercise.

I'd be lost without a pair of tights this time of year - Under Armour Coldgear all the way for me.

Interesting. Any recognised studies/articles for sleeping in these at night?
