4.7 Cerb anyone?
Discussion
Worth every penny, Anyone who has done any work on there Cerbera will know how the costs can escalate. I purchased mine over 4 years ago and If I add up the purchase price and what I have spent on it I am not far of this price and it isn't at the standard of the one for sale.
Good Cerberas should be getting good money.

Now i think that is stunning and appreciate the costs. I have been mulling it over and comparing it to a genuine late model, unmolested 4.5 at perhaps a cheaper price. Unfortunately as nice as that is i am not sure it will retain its value as well as a standard car. That said it would look very nice on my drive! Times like this i wish i could be more decisive!!
That's fantastic, I'm heartened when the prices start to reflect the obvious quality.
As the Cerb does cost a bomb to repair its only fair really.
It can only give us owners more insentive to look after our cars well.
I think the Cerb is the best thing that Tvr ever made, well there s
t until you've re built it but after that what a car.

Do you really buy a Tvr to retain value? Just drive the damn things and enjoy them! If you want to retain value e type jags are doing well just now.http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Absolutely not having blown the kids inheritance upgrading my griff, the point i was trying to make is i could buy a cheaper mint 2002/3 4.5 that in a couple of years could be worth more than this one. Alun450 said:

I'm not so sure about that - over the last 3.5 years mine has cost less than a grand in repairs parts and labour. I've found it a very reliable car.Alun450 said:

Whats a 4.7 red rose?
Surely if you have a red rose and you take the engine out to bolt in the 4.7 bits the red rose part of what ever you originally had is no longer any better than the guy who puts your engine back together.
Or am I missing that TVR did a 4.7 for him?
Very nice car either way

I strongly disagree with the statement `well there all sAs the Cerb does cost a bomb to repair its only fair really.

t until they are rebuilt`.I have owned Cerb`s 9 years and agree they need good money spending on them to keep them in tip-top fettle,i spent 3k on mine having the suspension, brakes and steering rebuilt and its transformed the car,but to say they need a rebuild before they are any good is quite an overstatement IMO. julian64 said:

Ronan has been selling the car on and off for a while I believe Andy at APM did his 4.7 conversion which was devised in conjunction with Dom at Powers. The 4.5 Red Rose spec was selectable map for high octane fuel and some porting work they had slightly higher compression to get the extra BHP.So technically some of the Red Rose bit May still be there ported heads higher comp selectable map.Surely if you have a red rose and you take the engine out to bolt in the 4.7 bits the red rose part of what ever you originally had is no longer any better than the guy who puts your engine back together.

Who wants a red rose 4.7 when, for a lot less money, you can have this one?

Anyone know this car? Sounds weird to me, not saying isn't genuine, it's just that it sounds too special to have remained under the radar.http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...

If this one has one of the stroked engines with a spacer between the head and the block to get to the 5.2 then I looked into doing this but dismissed it due to the horrendous reliability issues these engines suffered from and the power gains were not what was claimed here.
My 4.7 should be finished in a few weeks.
