Best BUDGET roadster/convertible?

If you were going to put £1000-£1500 on something with 2 seats and no roofs, where would you go?

There was a cracking MR2 on the BB thread at the end of last year for £995 with leather etc which looked peachy, even if you needed to fill it with oil every time you filled it with petrol.

What else should I look at, or is it just a straight toss up between MX5 and MR2 at this price?

MX5 and MR2 are the main contenders, though you do find the occasional person who prefers the MGF.

MX5 for me, had a couple in the past and will probably have another at some stage.
