Have you played it? No, didn't think so.
Thanks for the great informed reply, totally relevant to what I asked!Clearly I haven't played it you clown hence asking the question.
For a blockbuster next gen title 6vs6 is tiny and playing bots just isn't the same especially when the gameplay videos looked tremendous

Go and read the developer rationale behind balancing the game. You arbitrary assumptions about which numbers would make for a game that is not 'disappointing' will probably look quite silly once you've informed yourself on the rationale behind the decision. Of course though, you might still think you know better than the developers who've spent thousands of hours testing and balancing this product...Clearly I haven't played it you clown hence asking the question.

Indeed. I think the reaction here is because the debate has already been had in gaming circles, and so there is a certain amount of fatigue about "its only 6v6"
Fun is fun. You can have fun in single player games, in co op games or in multiplayer games, with any number of players.
Just like megapixels more does not imply better...
The game will be really fun.

They seem to be saying the game will be busy enough with all the bots making it out that there will be 48 players in each match. Why not just have 48 human players when they can change game modes to 6vs6 etc
It was originally 12 vs 12 why not have that but as a big team battle game mode.
It's a next gen blockbuster title why not go for the maximum potential the xbone has.
You seem to be confusing technical potential for enjoyment potential. A massive arbitrary player cap means nothing if it compromises the fun the game delivers, which it has been assessed as doing so. And this assessment was made by the developers, who have spent thousands of hours making, balancing and tweaking the game.
One of the most pertinent reasons for a smaller player cap is that the USP of the game is these massive mechs. That's what you want to experience, what you want to spend time piloting. There will be what, two at the most in play at any one time, with maps created to accommodate this. So if you've got 32 players a side, that leaves you with 1/32 or worse chance of actually getting a shot of these mechs. That is an obvious balancing issue there that I can imagine would quite spoil the game for many players who wanted to have a go in a Titan. Of course, the developers say they are constantly tweaking and looking for feedback, so I imagine there may well be new maps and modes under construction now that will accommodate a larger player cap, though whether or not this will actually improve the game at all, I don't know.
I've included a few screenshots with this post as I am feeling quite excited about this now.

Few vids appearing from this public alpha

I can't see 6v6 being much of an issue, looks a touch hectic!

That looks absolutely fantastic! With only EDF 2025 to see us through February, but then Thief, Titanfall and Dark Souls 2 in March, it could be a bit of a busy month!http://youtu.be/cXnquz6mHjA

LOL if you think the game will look anything like that to play. Xbone can't even manage to draw a racetrack in 1080p and you figure it's going to have all of that on screen with that detail?
Those "screenshots" are concept renders or from the PC version.
I assume you can back that comment up with pure cold facts and evidence? Those "screenshots" are concept renders or from the PC version.
Personally, having grown up in the era of 'pong' I couldnt give a rats arse (so long as we're not talking XBox original style graphics!) about 1080p clarity, so long as the gameplay meets it's promise, and evrything I've read leads me to believe it will
