They're all a bit crap really. I find little difference between my Altura neoprene, DHB windproof, or even both together! With my less holey SPD shoes and Woolie Boolies I can survive alright, well into minus figures last year but it's still the feet that feel any cold the most.
I'll struggle on as is this year, but it will be some toasty winter boots next year.

If your looking to keep your feet dry then overshoes are crap, they really don't do what it says on the tin. You would be better sticking a couple of M&S carrier bags on your feet before putting your socks on...
Overshoes with vented soles allows the water in and out plus your toes should keep reasonably warm but you do need a towel and clean socks if commuting.
If you're trying to keep you feet warm and 90% dry then a pair of SPD pedals, a pair of Shimano MW81 Gore-Tex boots and a pair of Woolie Boolie socks will work. The boots are waterproof but on very wet occasions water will get in as it runs down your leg and enters at the ankle area

Have to say I persevere d with over boots for years. I always suffered from cold feet and they are a pain off road. A couple of years ago I bought a set of Winterbottom! Brilliant piece of kit and probabley the best prices of kit fir biking I've ever bought. I know they are expensive but they are worth every penny.
Ive got some fluro Tenn overshoes - they are OK, keep my feet warm enough on 1 hour rides in current temps - but starting to disintigrate on the soles.
Fluro ones very bright so useful in winter.

My plan is to just buy cheap and replace them every year. Already got some planet X overshoes from the winter bundle waiting to replace these ones when they fail.

I'd just get some cheapo overshoes for under 20 and treat them as consumables binning them every 3 months
Ive been using some cheap Aldi ones (£8) for the first time this year and love em, they have done a sterling job and have protected my shoes well and kept some heat in. When it rains they aren't waterproof but wearing 2 x thick socks keeps the heat in. They do soak up the water well though so it doesnt come through to the shoes.
Guards keep the bulk of the shiite off my my feet which is a big factor in the longevity of shoes/overshoes in Winter

Got these in one of the PX bundles and they are really good. Fit well, loads of space at the front for the cleat, good thick material keeps you toasty adn at that price they are a bargain. The Decathlon ones aren't so bad for the money. So far they've kept my feet fairly warm although they're not waterproof (and don't pretend to be).
The zip is a bit of a weak point. And make sure you get a much larger size than what the label recommends. the Size 10-11 are a tight fit on my size 9 shoes.

Tape up all the vents. I had some castelli ones and I paid about £28 for those and they were crap. Started falling apart in a few months.
I recently bought some BBB WaterFlex from wiggle and they have been brilliant so far. Fleece lined and a Velcro strap between the toe and the wheel. The toe area also has extra layering so doesn't wear out when you put your foot down at traffic lights.
They have survived a few rain showers, but like many others water will eventually run down your legs and the top of your ankles will get wet.

For me the Lidll items were no good, they were a sponge to moisture and too thick around the cleat meaning clipping in was challenging.
BBB neoprene are very warm and keep the showers at bay.
Tenn fluro are great for visibility and provide warmth but I don't think they'll keep the rain out the well (only ridden in light shower with them).
My problem often is, my toes sometimes feel cold and occasionally go a little numb but when I get home they're all clammy/sweaty due to the lack of ventilation. I presume I need something Gore-tex based that blocks the wind, keeps rain out and let's my pinkys breath!!!
