Porsche Sport Driving

So ive previously done the GT course at PEC with a 997 gt3 and Gt2 but im thinking about this- http://www.porsche.com/silverstone/en/experience/p...

Anyone done any of these and have any experiences? I dont want to sit in a room talking about it i wanna drive MY car for the 2.5hrs

I think you'd be better off doing a day (or even half a day) on a Goldtrack Silverstone day (or similar) with a good instructor - cost will be a bit higher, but value will be far greater due to so much more time spent one to one and a full size track. You can reduce the instructor cost by sharing him/her with someone - you and the car will need frequent rest-stops, the instructor not so often, so he can be working with the other guy instead.

actually not bad idea. was also not really wanting to track the car often just some useful 'car craft' (pls dont laugh) in my RS as opposed to tearing around in my exige S with no real talent just the nannies to get me straight if i get it wrong. The lotus is good for that in fairness but wanted to experience the RS without potentially binning it with some ford focus burried in the side of the car!

I did the Precision course and it was expensive but I learnt quite a bit about the Boxster and in different areas. Didn't use my own car but if you can it would be better. Aside from learning about your own car don't expect anything different from what you did on the GT course, as it is essentially the same motions you will be going through.

I'd rather go on Silverstone with a good driver though, if I wanted race tuition. Missed out on an opportunity with the amazing Sean Edwards a few years ago, may he rest in peace.

Pretty sure they will tailor a session for you if you speak to them,I have done a bit of track days and club racing but their low friction surfaces is some of the best fun I've had in any car its an absolute hoot,grinning from ear to ear as I did it,want to go back and just play on that ALL DAY. :-)

As above. They are willing to tailor your experience to pretty much anything you want, but it can be costly.

I wanted to drive a 997 GT3 on the GP circuit for a half day and they quoted me £1200.

I was talking to my instructor on my PEC freebie half day about further courses with them and he recommended the sport driving master course. You do get a good amount of time on the Silverstone circuit interspersed with time on the PEC low grip areas and they will tailor the whole course to what you want and the areas you need to focus on.

It did sound a fantastic two days but comes at a price. I'm still debating whether to do it.
